Why GlobeHopper

GlobeHopper plans are available worldwide to individuals, families and groups of any nationality, for trips outside your home country from five days up to two years. Plus, if you are not sure of how long you’ll be overseas, as long as you have bought at least one month initial period of insurance and there are no gaps in cover, then you can extend up to a maximum of two years coverage from your initial effective date (subject to plan terms & conditions). Discounted group rates are available for groups of five or more persons applying together.

Maximum Flexibility

The GlobeHopper plans offer you maximum flexibility when it comes to choosing and personalising your travel medical insurance plan coverage. You have a wide range of flexible options to choose from:

• premiums are payable in three currencies: GB£ or US£ or EU€
• this is a UK-originated plan, regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and with a ‘plain English’ style Wording
• can be purchased after departure
• includes cover in Country of Citizenship (the one place it doesn’t cover you is the country you state as ‘place of permanent residence’ aka your ‘home country’)
• it offers three Areas of Cover (automatically chosen by the online system according to the details you enter)
• has some special benefits for EU customers (i.e it dovetails with NHS/State, and gives you a ‘hospital cash back’ incentive)
• guaranteed issue, with online fulfilment
• single brochure for both individuals and groups
• Includes on-piste skiing
• claims are administered by the IMG Europe claims team in line with our published customer service charter which is strictly managed and prioritized
• Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) is payable on this plan, because it is EU originated. The tax is determined by your country of location at time of purchase (which is why a question about this appears on the online form). But IPT is only payable for certain EU countries.

Platinum offers:

• Much higher values of cover
• like regular GlobeHopper there is no upper age limit, and in addition there are capped values only for aged 80 and above
• includes a hospital daily income benefit
• is renewable up to 3 years

Multi-Trip offers:

• Very similar benefit schedule to GlobeHopper Single Trip
• Policy maximum up to $1M, £600K and €800K
• Multiple trip coverage throughout the year - choice of 30 days or 45 days in length
• Unlimited number of trips per policy year
• Cover up to the age of 75, but with capped values for insureds aged 70-75
• Is renewable up to 3 years
