“Travel leaves you speechless and then turns you into a storyteller…”
"Passport ✔ Money ✔ Ticket ✔ Mask ✔ PCR test ✔ Well let's go!". The excitement in the children's eyes was something I hadn't seen in over a year. We were going on our first holiday together since the Covid pandemic started. We drove to the airport not sure what to expect with all the new protocols.…

PARIS
City of Lights
When you think of Paris, history, architecture, art and romance are perhaps some of the first thoughts that come to mind. I travelled to France, this foreign and far away land with a different language, and a place where I knew no one. I wanted to cancel my trip up until the moment I walked out of the Charles De Gaulle airport. Then it was pure excitement for the adventure that lay ahead!
My Kenya Airways flights went well, all staff were friendly and helpful, and I was lucky enough to have good company along the way as well as a good selection of movies available on board. The boarding in Nairobi did take quite long, however, both Jomo Kenyatta International and Charles De Gaulle airports were clean, not too busy and reasonably easy to find your way around, with helpful staff to assist.…
CHILE
Chile is a remarkably beautiful country, some 4 500 km long and barely 250 wide, the snow covered, volcanic, towering Andes to the East, the Pacific ocean to the West. It embraces all climates from the Atacama in the North - the driest desert in the world, travelling South through 'Cape Province - like' countryside, around Santiago with grape vines and subtropical fruits, to Engliah type Puerto Varras with deciduous fruits and dairy, to the Tierra del Fuegio near the South Pole, which is relentlessly wet and windy.
We were based in two places - Santiago with our grandson Nicholas, and near Puerto Varras with Tuff's brother Gerry. The people are very friendly, but unless you speak Spanish or have a Spanish speaker with you, I would recommend some sort of tour guide. We were fortunate in having Nicholas and his girlfiend both fluent in the language, and Gerry's wife, being Brazilian, Spanish was not too far removed from the Portuguese.
You would call Chile 'First World', because it is spotlessly clean and we only saw one pot hole in the roads, though we must have travelled around 1 000km!…
VICTORIA FALLS
THE SPECTACULAR VICTORIA FALLS
April is a lovely time to visit the remarkable Victoria Falls. I had no idea that there were so many activities you could do, two nights is definitely not enough. The weather was perfect, it was very hot and the main attraction the Victoria Falls was gushing, as this is also when water levels are at its peak. The rainforest was extremely refreshing and slippery. It is advisable to wear waterproof shoes or slippers with a non-slip sole and ensure that if you are carrying expensive gadgets that they are packed away in a waterproof bag, because believe me you are bound to get completely drenched out there.
Fly Africa
The fairly new low cost carrier, is quite a spacious plane.…
